To celebrate Black History Month, Diverse Leaders Network teamed up with the BBC Outreach Team, to bring to life the untold stories of those who have contributed to the culture, history and achievements of the black community. We invited ninety 16-18 year old students from three inner city London schools to the BBC Broadcasting House to learn and use the art of storytelling to tell their stories. After their storytelling workshop, students were given one hour to creatively tell the stories of 14 Black British heroes. They were supported by a total of 45 BBC staff from a range of departments (including BBC News, Radio 1 and the Diversity and Inclusion Team) who helped them to shape their stories, demystify the BBC and raise their awareness of careers and jobs within the media industry.

Two videos created by the students on the day were showcased on the Black and British webpage and used by a senior member of staff to support staff training and inspire their team.
